I loved these vignettes! Talking to the recess monitor struck me as a great idea and I have never thought of something like that for children needing a friend. You have been fortunate in having such friends through the years, and I loved how you and your husband met. If you had picked up the package on a different shift, or if you hadn't talked, it never would have happened.
